Balance, Fall Prevention & Confidence
Balance, gait and confidence training for older adults who feel unsteady, have had a fall, or have stopped doing things because they are afraid of one.
Best for: unsteadiness, a recent fall or near-fall, fear of walking outdoors.

The first visit looks at how you actually move: standing balance, walking pattern, turning, and getting down to and up off the floor. Sessions then rehearse the real hazards in your life — the stairs, the curb outside, the rug in the hallway — with a trainer within arm's reach the whole time. We add reaction and light agility work as steadiness improves, and every report records a 0-10 stability score so progress is visible.
First 5–10 minutes for check-in, next 40–50 minutes for the program, last 5–10 minutes for cool-down and the recap.
- First 5–10 minutes
Check-in and safety review
The trainer asks about sleep, pain, medication changes, and anything that happened since the last visit — a stumble, a hospital appointment, a bad night. Blood pressure or steadiness is checked when the plan calls for it, and the session is adjusted before a single exercise starts.
Best for: anyone recovering from surgery, managing several medications, or having up-and-down days.
- Next 40–50 minutes
The program
Warm-up, then strength and balance work using body weight, bands and light weights, then one real-life task rehearsed properly — standing from a low sofa, stairs, carrying groceries. Everything can be done seated, and the trainer logs sets, reps and effort as you go.
Best for: building steadier walking, stronger legs, and confidence with daily tasks.
- Last 5–10 minutes
Cool-down and what's next
Gentle stretching and breathing, a plain-language recap of what went well, one thing to practise before the next visit, and the written report the client and approved family members receive — usually within a few hours.
Best for: families who want to know how the visit actually went without having to be there.
